Have you ever been struck with an idea that you just can’t seem to get out of your head? Well, the idea for this company came to me just like that.
One day I was doing a little house cleaning while listening to this podcast by Guy Raz called “How I Built This.” A good friend of mine turned me on to this podcast, and if you haven’t listened to it yet I HIGHLY recommend it.
I kept scrolling through new episodes to listen to, and I found myself continually picking episodes in relation to the fashion industry. Maybe it’s because I really love shopping, or following the newest trends, or just the fact that I grew up with three sisters who loved playing dress up. Either way, this little seed was planted in my mind. And it grew.
The idea of starting my own clothing shop started small. Could I do it? Should I? My husband, Josh, and I were already running a full-time wedding videography business, did I really need to venture out into something new and unknown? Yet the idea just wouldn't go away. By the time I finally mentioned the idea to my husband, I was nearly bursting at the seams. And truthfully I thought he might tell me I was crazy! I'll never forget Josh listening quietly while I listed all the reasons why I wanted to launch a clothing company, and him calmly saying to me, "I think you should do this." That was all I needed to hear to jump in with both feet to make this dream a reality.
Oh, and if you are wondering where the name for the company comes from, it’s named after my daughter Evangeline (Evie) Winter. She’s only 4 years old, but I hope that she will see that if she lets a dream grow, she can make it into something special! And maybe she’ll think I’m a cool mom for naming it after her. Maybe... ;)
Thank you for shopping and helping this little dream grow into something beautiful.
